Ambassador Laila Bahaa El-Din, Chief Executive Officer of the Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge, met with Graça Machel, widow of the late President Nelson Mandela and one of Africa’s most distinguished figures to have been honored by the Foundation in recognition of her contributions to peace, development, and human rights. The meeting took place during her visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the request of Mrs. Graça Machel.
During the meeting, Ambassador Laila Bahaa El-Din conveyed the greetings of Mr. Mamdouh Abbas, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, reaffirming his deep appreciation for Graça Machel’s outstanding service to the African continent and the Foundation’s commitment to expanding cooperation with leading African personalities and institutions.
The discussions also explored opportunities for collaboration between the Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation and similar organizations and associations across Africa, with the aim of implementing initiatives that advance peace and sustainable development while strengthening cooperation among the peoples of the continent.
