The Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, in cooperation with the Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge, organized a seminar entitled “The Regional Order: Pursuits of Hegemony and Struggles over Roles,” bringing together a distinguished group of leading experts, researchers, and specialists in regional and international affairs.
The seminar opened with remarks by Dr. Amr El-Qadi on behalf of Dr. Ayman El-Sayed Abdel Wahab, Director of the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, followed by an address by Ambassador Laila Bahaa El-Din, Executive Director of the Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge.
The academic sessions featured Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed Idris, Ambassador Atef Sayed El-Ahl, Dr. Rabha Seif Allam, Mr. Mohab Adel, Dr. Mohamed Abbas Nagi, Dr. Mohamed Ezz El-Arab, and Ms. Safinaz Mohamed Ahmed. The sessions were chaired by Dr. Ali El-Din Hilal and Dr. Abdel Aleem Mohamed.
Discussions focused on the future of the regional order in the Middle East amid accelerating international transformations, efforts to achieve regional hegemony and competition over regional roles, Israeli conduct and the limits of power, and the implications of the war and the U.S.–Iran agreement for the security of the Arab Gulf.
The seminar forms part of the ongoing cooperation between the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies and the Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge to promote intellectual dialogue on regional and international issues of strategic importance.
