Kemet Announces its Annual Prizes - 2022 edition

The foundation is pleased to announce its 2022 prizes for academic excellence and diplomatic contribution to peace and conflict resolution.

Academic Prizes

1. Prize of Academic Excellence:
• Aims to honor academic excellence for students of political science that encourage outstanding graduates continue their exceptional efforts.
• The prize will be awarded to two students with the highest GPA upon graduation 2022 (students ranked first and second) of the faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, regardless of their specialty.
• The value of the prize is LE 60,000 to each student.

2. Prize of Excellence in International Law and International Regulation:
• Aims to encourage and promote scientific research in the Egyptian universities.
• The prize will be awarded to the two best PhD thesis in International Law and International Regulation submitted to the Egyptian universities in 2020 and 2021.
• The first prize amounts to LE 100,000 and the second is EGP 75,000. The Foundation will publish the PhD of the thesis on its website.
• Applicants should submit their PhD thesis in PDF format, along with their CVs, and PhD certificates granted by the faculty to the Foundation’s email boutrosghaliprize@kemetbbg.org.
• Deadline for submission is 1/9/2022.
• Winners will be selected by a specialized committee of university professors appointed by the Foundation’s board members.

3. Prize of Excellence in African Studies:
• The prize aims to encourage and promote scientific research in the Egyptian universities.
• The prize will be awarded to the two best PhD thesis in African studies (Political Science and Regional Regulation in Africa) submitted to the Egyptian universities in 2020 and 2021.
• The first prize amounts to LE 100,000 and the second is EGP 75,000. The Foundation will publish the PhD thesis on its website.
• Applicants should submit their PhD thesis in PDF format, along with their CVs, and PhD certificates granted by the faculty, to the Foundation’s email boutrosghaliprize@kemetbbg.org.

Prizes of Outstanding Contribution to Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution

4. Prize of Outstanding Contribution of Peacemaking and Peacekeeping:
• Aims to honor outstanding contribution in the field of peacemaking and peacekeeping.
• The prize amounts to $10,000 or its equivalent in Egyptian pounds.
• The winner will be selected by a specialized committee appointed by the Foundation’s board members.

5. Prize of Achievement in Conflict Resolution, Democracy, and Human Rights:
• Aims to honor important personalitiy working in the fields of Conflict Resolution, Democracy, and Human Rights, including those who work in the field of politics, diplomacy and advocacy.
• The value of the prize is $10,000 or its equivalent in Egyptian pounds.
• The Winner will be selected by a committee appointed by the Foundation’s board members.

Winners will receive their prizes during the Foundation’s annual ceremony due to be held on November 27, 2022.
